Starting an International Journal Club

One of the biggest challenges for community health workers in developing countries is accessing medical information that is up-to-date and from a reliable source. Many CHWs do not have access to a reliable internet connection, let alone have subscriptions to medical resources or journals. We want to make the best medical information accessible, even in the most remote corners of the world. That's why One Good Turn is in the process of creating an International Journal Club that will be hosted on platforms that are accessible to medical professionals in developing countries. In order to increase accessibility, we will be using WhatsApp and Facebook to host our journal club. This way, health workers can access the journal club right from their phone. We will share articles that focus on treatment and identification of common ailments in neglected communities. We currently have participants based in Jordan, Cambodia, Mexico, Kenya, Nicaragua, the US, and other countries.
