OGT had our first-ever fundraising event this November! All the magic was thanks to one of our number one supporters (and we're his biggest fan as well), Ari Mintz. Ari, a high school classmate of OGT Founder Ann Messer's, reached out to us about hosting an event early last year. Since Ari is based in Lake Forest, IL (and OGT is headquartered in Austin, TX), the support we could provide was relatively limited. Despite this, Ari took the lead and secured a venue, entertainment, and even spear-headed marketing! The event came together beautifully on November 16, 2019, at the Legendary Wooden Nickel in Highwood, IL and even featured a last-minute sponsorship from Tito's Handmade Vodka.
Ann stepped in as a guest on bass guitar. Between Ari and Ann, the place was bumping. With friends, family, and supporters galore, the venue was crowded and busy. For a first-time crack at a fundraising event, it was not only a total blast but super successful as well!
Thank you so much to everyone who made this event possible. It wouldn't have been the same without each and every attendee, musician, friend, and family member who made it out. Special shoutouts to Ari Mintz for putting it all together and to the two magical bands that were truly the stars of the show, Vat of Chocolate and the Not-for-Profit Band.
